The washing machine..

hasn't stop washing since the day I was back, it's still washing. Frankly speaking, it irritates the hell out of me. The washing machine happens to be in the toilet and the toilet is adjacent to my room. To give a clearer picture, imagine when I walk out of my room, the toilet's door is directly opposite to my room's door. It takes about 2 to 3 normal steps to reach across to the toilet. Bad feng shui some might say, well, not that I know a lot about feng shui to give my two cents worth, but I'm really irritated by the sound of the washing machine beeping away. I happen to have a very irritating washing machine that makes an irritating beeping sound when it's filling water into the tub, when it's going to spin and when it's finish washing.

I guess I must be really bored to be bothered by the washing machine... Argh! I need to get my engine started before I break down, then again there' no need for me to worry about that. I've just been to my Week 1 lectures and collected all my course outline. And guess what? The assignment due dates are all set! Which means my hellious semester is about to gobble me up. No doubts I'll defend myself with my shining armor, but I really don't dare to think much of it.

I've noticed a new guy in class, I think he's queer. For those who do not know the meaning of queer, it means he's not straight... For those who need a more explicit explaination than that, it's what laymen would call gay. Anyway, that's not suppose to be my point, my point is, he seems like an emerging 'talker' in lectures. OK ok... want me to explain the meaning of 'talker' right? Talkers are people who ask a lot of questions and make a lot of comments during and throughout the lectures. Commonly known as the smarty pants, smart alecks or the geh kiang-s, then again, he may be really kiang for all we know.

Today in lecture, the lecturer posed a question to us:

Do you thinking that the notion of 'context' adequately accounts for the diversity in human development?

We're suppose to ponder on this question, but Mr Smarty Pants had a comment almost immediately after the lecture said, "Think about it, we'll ask you again when we're half way through the semester."

He said something really cheem not that I don't understand what he said, but I reckon it'll be too boring for me to explain it here... For those who think I'm faking it... Ok... I shall say a bit for the sake of my reputation.

He mentioned something about the reciprocal effects of agency and the structure in which we are situated. In simple English, human responsed to societal demands. Still not simple enough? Let's just leave it at, does the human shape the society or vice versa. Cheem right...?

It's only the first lecture and I already feel intimidated, I think I must do my reading concientously and try hard not to fall asleep during lecture. Some of the worries about going to lecture:

1. Dozing off
solution: Sit at the first few rows so that I'll feel too self concious to fall asleep. The lecturer might see me nodding off, so will put in effort to stay awake.

2. Catch no ball
solution: Do my readings before I go for my lecture and hopefully I'll be able to understand what the lecturer is talking about.

3. Mind draws blank when lecturer look around for volunteers expecting them to make an intelligent comment
solution: act blur

4. Late for lecture, very paiseh to walk in late, cos everyone will be giving you the 'hor hor... you are late...' look.
solution: Try not to be late by waking up earlier, should there be a need to really be late e.g the toilet flood or your house on fire, try not to make eye contact with anyone to feel better.

I've just watched 'Oh Happy Day'. It's a Korean movie. Turtle Dude once told me that it's a really funny movie and urge me to go watch it, I didn't believe him then because I wasn't into Korean drama. As we all know, Korean movies are famous for it's long windedness and an overwhelming amount of sadness and the lack of happy endings. However, after much exposure to Korean movies, I realise I need to take back my own words. So to people out there who are a fan of using words like, 'Never' and 'Always', DON'T DO IT. These absolute words will often result in having you slap yourself across your own cheek more than once.

I've watched a number of Korean movies, mostly romance/comedies and I find them really funny and touching. I don't deny that I cried watching a few of them and I laughed like an idiot for most of them. Can't really remember the titles of the movies that I've watched, else I'll recommend them to you. Yes, yes... I'm a sucker for lame, bimbotic korean romance comedy, so what? As long as they crack me up...

Nope, I'm not going to do a movie review, 'Oh Happy Day' is such an old movie should be able to get it fromTS video shop. All I can say is I will watch it over and over again.

This is a guide for how you can use me as a gauge for whether the movie is worth watching:

I've watched 'Finding Nemo' almost about 7 times.

So... you decide for yourself la ok.

Damn!! I feel so tired, didn't really sleep well last night. Just when I was about to fall asleep, my housemate who's sleeping in the living room knocked on the wall. Just as I was about to go back to sleep, someone b**tard's car alarm went off. Please lor, what's the point of having a car alarm? I'll never geddit! If your alarm goes off, it means something must have already been stolen or the damage is already done. So WHY, W-H-Y bother to set alarm? Can you catch the culprit by waking up the whole neighbourhood? No you can't! So turn off your bloody car alarm! For those who refuse to turn it off, at least have the basic courteousy to WAKE YOUR SLEEPY HEAD and switch it off when it's triggered. It's really pointless if you don't wake up to your car alarm, not only does it irritate the neighbours, it's stupid to have it on. So... to all car owners... Please spare a thought for those who are just trying to have a goodnight rest and weave sweet dreams.
