旁观者清，当局者迷...

to some extent i disagree with this statement... after all, you know what's best for yourself...

but one can be so blinded by impulse and emotions to be a good judge of the situation.

that's why you need good friends and people around you who care enough to help you see perspectives and explore alternatives...

ultimately, other people can only offer advice and suggestions, but the decision is still up to the individual... no one can make someone do anything they don't want to (a bit of a tongue twister, but you get what i mean...)
